Pseudoscience advocating practices such as selective breeding and compulsory sterilization of humans to improve the human species. A literal translation of the word itself is “good birth” (“eu-” = “good,” “genos” = “birth”), which gives it a positive feel. The Korean translation, 우생학, likewise uses 優 (“superior”) and 生 (“birth”), suggesting “superior birth.”
