# Population parameter

> 모집단에 대하여 계산된 파라메터들. 모집단 중 일부에 대해서만 계산한 "추정된" 파라메터를 추정된 모수라고 부른다.

예를 들어 전체 데이터에 대해 계산한 평균은 <모평균>(population mean; $\mu$), 일부 데이터만 이용해서 계산한 평균은 추정된 평균(estimated mean; $\bar{X}$) 또는 <표본 평균>(sample mean)이다.
