## Monthly retrospective

Still working on things related to the [fishing industry](https://wiki.g15e.com/pages/Fishing%20industry.txt).

I am barely keeping up with news about [generative AI](https://wiki.g15e.com/en/pages/Generative%20AI.txt). Even keeping track of what to pick up and use in which situation is difficult.

- The [AI-aided programming](https://wiki.g15e.com/en/pages/AI-aided%20programming.txt) environment is improving rapidly. "Agents" are becoming increasingly useful, and the term [vibe coding](https://wiki.g15e.com/en/pages/Vibe%20coding.txt) has begun to catch on.
- The [bottleneck in the AI–human interaction loop](https://wiki.g15e.com/en/pages/Bottleneck%20of%20AI-Human%20interaction%20loop.txt) is becoming more severe.

I started reading the <Harry Potter series>.

### 2025-02-26

<Anthropic> announced Sonnet 3.7 and [Claude Code](https://wiki.g15e.com/en/pages/Claude%20Code.txt), and the next day <Google> announced [Gemini Code Assist](https://wiki.g15e.com/pages/Gemini%20Code%20Assist.txt). Gemini Code Assist comes as a VSCode extension (similar to [GitHub Copilot](https://wiki.g15e.com/en/pages/GitHub%20Copilot.txt)) and a GitHub App (for PR reviews).

<Seungjoon Choi> coined the expression [generative indigestion](https://wiki.g15e.com/en/pages/%EC%83%9D%EC%84%B1%ED%98%95%20%EC%86%8C%ED%99%94%EB%B6%88%EB%9F%89.txt). It refers to the stage in the [AI–human interaction loop](https://wiki.g15e.com/en/pages/Bottleneck%20of%20AI-Human%20interaction%20loop.txt) where humans take in and understand information.

Following OpenAI, Google, and DeepSeek, [Perplexity has also launched Deep Research](https://www.perplexity.ai/hub/blog/introducing-perplexity-deep-research). And it's free. Paid users get unlimited access. Now DR, too, has become a public good. We are moving toward a world where human laziness and intelligence are the bottlenecks (see [Bottleneck of AI-Human interaction loop](https://wiki.g15e.com/en/pages/Bottleneck%20of%20AI-Human%20interaction%20loop.txt)). When there is a bottleneck, we either 1) improve it until it is no longer a bottleneck, or 2) find a way not to depend on that resource (humans).

### 2025-02-11

I finished [Out of my mind](https://wiki.g15e.com/pages/Out%20of%20my%20mind.txt) and plan to start [Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone](https://wiki.g15e.com/pages/Harry%20Potter%20and%20the%20Sorcerer's%20Stone.txt) tomorrow. Even though I dislike <J. K. Rowling>.

A conversation.

> - A: Why did you tell me to avoid this food?
> - B: Because it's bad for you.
> - A: How is it bad for you?
> - B: It has harmful effects on the body. For your information, I majored in nutrition.

Essentially a tautology followed by an appeal to authority.
